5. Non-extraction Treatment (Part 1)
If we have decided on non-extraction treatment based on diagnosis,
we have to come up with a treatment strategy.
In MEAW orthodontics, the Strategic Leveling and Alignment (SLA) is carried out which means
the Open Coil Springs are used strategically while performing the Strategic Bonding.
In the non-extraction treatment, this can solve crowding without the use of mini screws,
while minimizing labioversion of the original position of the maxillary and/or mandibular anterior teeth.
In particular, it will explain how to treat the rotated teeth or palatally-displaced lateral incisors.
Retrusive control, which prevents the mandible from moving backward in Class II malocclusion and
midline deviation cases, is described.
The lecture is based on indications and clinical reports such as third molar extraction,
reproximation and the maxillary second molar extraction among non-extraction treatment.
