6. Non-extraction Treatment (Part 2)
This lecture is about explanations, instructions, and the case discussion of the various devices that
can be used in non-extraction treatment. It also explains indications, usage, and precautions of
TPA and lingual arch to maintain Leeway space.
It is not easy to move teeth in non-extraction treatment due to tight occlusion,
which can cause a labial inclination of anterior teeth. Therefore, it is sometimes necessary to
facilitate the tooth movement while eliminating the occlusal force. Then, the vertical dimension,
and occlusal plane can be adjusted by using composite resin bonding, anterior bite plate,
posterior bite block, twin block appliance, etc.
Indications and instructions of these appliances are explained. In addition, there are lectures and
discussions about expansion appliances, head gear, double arch wires, mini screws, etc.
